While you certainly don’t have to be a golf enthusiast to appreciate the beauty of the World Golf Village Resort as a venue, it certainly doesn’t hurt! Its location between Jacksonville and St. Augustine makes it convenient for plenty of attractions and travelers flying through Jacksonville International Airport. Golfers will love its rich history and legacy of Hall of Famers, while everyone will enjoy the beautiful Renaissance Marriott Resort and all of its onsite amenities.
World Golf Village is home to two beautiful courses: The Slammer & Squire and The King & Bear. The Slammer & Squire was designed by Hall of Fame Members Sam Snead (the “Slammer”) and Gene Sarazen (the “Squire”), as well as architect Bobby Weed. The King & Bear is named for its co-designers, golf legends Arnold Palmer (the “King”) and Jack Nicklaus (the “Golden Bear.”) Both courses are absolutely beautiful and include gorgeous terrain, water features, and plenty of Florida sunshine.

Both The Slammer & Squire and The King & Bear include beautiful World Golf Village facilities perfect for hosting elegantly detailed weddings.
The Slammer & Squire Clubhouse is a versatile venue that can accommodate up to 120 guests (with a dance floor – 150 without.) The room is both stately and intimate, with walls of enormous windows overlooking the surrounding greenery. It’s also home to a gorgeous wrap-around patio with views of the golf course that is ideal for outdoor ceremonies or cocktail hours. The Grand Lawn can also accommodate a larger ceremony (up to 160 guests) or a beautiful reception under the stars.
The King & Bear is home to AJ’s Kitchen & Cocktails. A large, inviting space that can easily accommodate up to 150 people. Details like a tall vaulted ceiling, stone pillars, and an incredible back patio create a gorgeous ambiance. Outdoors, the Grand Event Lawn is ideal for romantic ceremonies. Meanwhile, inside the Main Dining Room creates a perfect elegant dinner party. It’s a beautiful, high-end space for an unforgettable evening!
