Casa Feliz in Winter Park, Florida, is an ideal setting for a charming, romantic wedding venue that is rich in history and beauty. From rustic textures to accents of sea green and lush gardens, it’s the perfect place for a wedding that feels both intimate and grand. Sound like it could fit your wedding vision? Here are some of my favorite details of a Casa Feliz wedding!
656 N Park Ave, Winter Park, FL 32789
Casa Feliz, once known as The Barbour Estate, is a true gem of Winter Park. In 1932, industrialist Robert Bruce Barbour commissioned famous architect James Gamble Rogers to build him a home on the shore of Lake Osceola. He gave Rogers unlimited creative freedom, telling him, “Design it any way you like. If I don’t like it, I’ll sell it.” The estate, a spectacular Spanish-inspired farmhouse, became a signature piece in Rogers’ portfolio. In the year 2000, the home was under threat of demolition. Over $1.2 million in private donations was raised to save the house, moving it to its current location on the Winter Park Golf Course and lovingly restoring it to its former glory. Today, the home boasts authentically restored Spanish roof tiles, whitewashed bricks, a bell tower, and scenic gardens.
Casa Feliz is full of beautiful old-world details that create a stunningly romantic environment for a wedding. Two hospitality suites located on the second floor of the venue are perfect, comfortable spaces for getting ready for your wedding day.
Your ceremony can be held outdoors in the beautiful brick-laden front lawn of the venue. An arched wooden door serves as your backdrop for your vows, surrounded by whitewashed brick and a second-floor balcony detailed in colors of the Mediterranean. You can also opt for an indoor ceremony surrounded by rich hardwood floors and hand-hewn beams. The indoor space is adorned with heavily carved European antiques and stunning views overlooking the lush courtyard.
When it’s time to celebrate, you can keep the party lively outdoors in the beautiful brick courtyard. Beautiful brick archways, sea-colored shutters, and strings of market lights add an extra special ambiance. Lush green landscaping keeps everything looking fresh and beautiful. While the outdoor spaces have plenty of room for up to 120 guests, tents are encouraged for parties of more than 70 people. If you choose to celebrate indoors at Casa Feliz, you and your guests will enjoy the original grandeur of the home with seating spread throughout the living room, library, and dining room. Indoor weddings can accommodate up to 80 guests.
There are so many beautiful details to incorporate into a Casa Feliz wedding album. From intricate Spanish tilework to stunning intimate courtyards, everywhere you look is a beautiful new backdrop. The lush gardens are wonderfully romantic for portraits. The home itself is iconic when used in photos, too! Beautiful archways, antique light fixtures, and other gorgeous touches make Casa Feliz an unforgettable photogenic venue.
Casa Feliz became known for its exceptional events. In part due to their exclusive vendors who have been picked for their reputable services. Their exclusive caterer, Arthur’s Creative Events & Catering, offers dynamic menus full of delicious hors d’oeuvres, entrees, and desserts. They also provide a list of approved DJs, lighting vendors, and tent rental companies. This ensures your wedding stays as high-quality as possible. You’ll also need to plan to use a licensed and insured event planner who can oversee all of your details, letting you kick back and enjoy every moment of your wedding day!
A Casa Feliz wedding is full of beautiful details, historic architecture, and so many details that have been lovingly restored to the home. With me as your wedding photographer, your album will be full of gorgeous photos. They capture not only the beauty of the venue but also the incredible magic of your love story and the memories of your wedding day.
