The Historic Venue 1902 is aptly named. The building was originally built as a schoolhouse in Sanford, Florida, known as the Sanford Grammar School. In 2017, it was established as a premier wedding venue. Restored with lavish, beautiful events in mind, today it boasts the perfect balance of vintage character and modern amenities. You’ll find original architectural details like hardwood floors and the signature brick exterior paired with contemporary white walls and updated decor that is both timeless and trendy. They’ve thought of everything you need when it comes to throwing an incredible wedding!
Details of the Grounds
The Historic Venue 1902 is a beautiful, versatile space that can accommodate up to 175 guests both indoors and outdoors.
You, your partner, and your wedding parties can begin your wedding day getting ready in the incredible suites that were designed specifically to offer a VIP experience. The Bridal Suite features 6 hair and makeup stations, plenty of natural lighting and seating, and a private bathroom. You’ll also have access to the Lounge, a beautiful boho-inspired space with features like a selfie station and hedge wall backdrop, vintage seating, and gorgeous decor.
The Groom’s Room is a great blend of vintage charm and modern perks, like leather sofas and chairs and a flat-screen TV. They’ll also have access to the Library, the newest space at Historic Venue 1902, complete with a pool table, poker table, and so much more. It’s a great, moody space for taking getting-ready photos (and dramatic couple’s portraits later in the day!)
Your Ceremony And Beyond
The Wedding Garden is the perfect setting for a Historic Venue 1902 outdoor ceremony. You’ll be surrounded by all of your favorite people on a lawn of perfectly manicured synthetic grass, with market lighting hanging overhead. Mature trees and hedges add a beautiful backdrop of greenery. Choose from a variety of custom arch options to add your signature touch to the space.
For cocktail hour, the Outdoor Lounge is the place to be! It’s home to a fire pit, wooden benches, and romantic lighting. It’s also a great setup for comfy lounge furniture or a cigar bar.
For your reception, the Main Venue is a show-stopper. This indoor ballroom is a gorgeous space for dining and dancing the night away. You can customize vintage features like the historic marquee and historic chalkboards. Hardwood floors and crystal chandeliers add extra elegance and charm. There’s also a large stage that is perfect for bands, DJs, and even indoor ceremonies!
