The House of Assembly is an events company that operates two unique venues: The Assembly Room at Art ‘n Motion and The Carriage House. Art ‘n Motion was created back in 2018 when the company had the vision to create a new industrial-inspired event space that would both blend into the aesthetic of St. Augustine – and stand out. Features like brick walls, handcrafted woodwork, and exposed ceilings are all unique touches that contribute an Old World charm to a space that also feels modern and new. Art ‘n Motion is a two-story brick building with five unique event spaces, though it’s primarily a classic car gallery and dealership (which adds a totally unique touch to your event.)
Details of the Grounds
The Bridal Suite is the perfect place to start your The Assembly Room St. Augustine wedding day. It comes filled with plenty of lounge seating and salon-style counter spaces with bar stools. Huge windows bring in tons of natural light, and a sparkling chandelier adds a touch of distinct femininity. It’s a great spot for a little peace and quiet as you prepare for the most beautiful day of your life.
Other spaces within Art ‘n Motion include The Showroom, the largest event room in the venue. Located on the first level of the building, it’s a large, open room with exposed brick walls, shiny concrete floors, massive barn doors, and floor-to-ceiling windows. On the second floor, The Classic is another fabulous space, similar in style to the Showroom but on a smaller scale. Plus, it has wrought iron railings that overlook the Showroom down below.
The Elizabeth Room features beautiful French doors and a unique mix of ornate woodwork, exposed brick, and industrial lighting. Named for the family’s first antique car, it’s an intimate space that is ideal for hosting small gatherings of about 25 people.
The Assembly Line room is uniquely industrial with its fogged garage doors, an oversized sliding barn door, and metal chandeliers. It leads right into another space, The Lift Deck Terrace, making this the perfect indoor/outdoor space for a wedding.
All of these spaces can be used however you please to accommodate a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception for up to 170 guests.
Photography Opportunities
If you love the industrial aesthetic or happen to be a classic car enthusiast, then The Assembly Room St. Augustine Art ‘n Motion is a wonderful venue for photos. Thoughtful architectural details like big barn doors, beautiful exposed brick, and wrought iron detailing are all wonderful to use in photos, too. While there aren’t a ton of outdoor options with greenery, its fabulous location means we’re within walking distance to water, parks, and plenty of other spots to grab a few outdoor photos if that’s on your list of must-haves!
