St. Augustine is one of the most beautiful, dynamic, and interesting cities in Florida – and there are plenty of cities in Florida that are unusual and beautiful in their own unique ways. While a lot of people come for the beautiful historic architecture and the European charm, others come to enjoy the beautiful views of the ocean and bays. At Bayfront Marin House wedding venue, you can enjoy both! This charming hotel has a history that goes back centuries, and today, it’s the perfect place for a waterfront getaway – or a gorgeous wedding.
142 Avenida Menendez, St. Augustine, FL 32084
St. Augustine is an incredible town that also happens to be one of the oldest in the country, continuously occupied by European cities. Even today, much of the area’s architecture reflects its French, British, and Spanish heritage, paired, of course, with the beautiful blue water of the Matanzas River and the Atlantic Ocean.
At the heart of it all is Bayfront Marin House, whose hotel building dates all the way back to the 1780s. In the centuries since the colonization of St. Augustine, many other buildings have gone up on the property, piecing together what is today a gorgeous inn and wedding venue. Passed on and sold from family to family in the 1700s, 1800s, and 1900s, it was then converted into the beautiful Bayfront Marin House in the summer of 2003.
Bayfront Marin House has several options for a sweet, intimate wedding. As far as spaces go, here are your options:
The Marin’s gorgeous courtyard features a gorgeous gazebo that is draped in romantic sheers and live greenery. Tropical foliage and the yellow exterior of the hotel’s primary building add an extra “Floridian” touch. The gazebo is the perfect spot for quiet elopements or for ceremonies of up to 30 guests.
The Vilano is a fabulous beach spot for small groups of up to 20, where you and your partner can say “I do” standing in front of the beautiful blue water. It’s a picturesque destination, with the gentle sound of ocean waves lapping upon the shore in the distance.
The largest space at Bayfront Marin House is the Sanchez House, which can accommodate up to 60 guests. The Sanchez House has beautiful details like hand-hewn wooden beams and a garden surrounded by a stone wall that captures all of the beauty and history of authentic St. Augustine.
Bayfront Marin House has so many unique architectural features and distinct historic touches that are perfect for photos. From the breezy gazebo in the courtyard to the two stories of outdoor patios, there are so many great spots for lovely wedding portraits. While Bayfront Marin House has plenty of beautiful backdrops for photos, the gorgeous water just across the street is perfect for stunning, coastal-inspired shots. With the blue water in the background and tall stretches of reeds and green grasses, it’s a gorgeous opportunity to take beachy portraits that exude romance.
Whether you’re planning a small elopement or a larger – but still intimate – celebration, Bayfront Marin House has the perfect wedding package to meet your needs. Amongst the top tier of offerings is their Gold wedding and reception packages. It include the rental of all 17 of the hotel’s rooms (including one or more in which you and your wedding parties can get ready for the day.) The packages also include perks like officiant fees, tables and chairs, a 3-tiered wedding cake, a sparkling wine toast, day-of coordination, and so much more. For your reception, bring in a fun food truck to serve your guests, and the morning after, everyone staying at the resort can enjoy a hot southern breakfast.
